August signals the return of young people to school. Although most will don their backpacks and hop on the bus, there are many boys and girls who will spend the back-to-school season in the MUSC Children’s Hospital. So it’s worth mentioning that August is also the time when you can act to help them in the most direct way — by volunteering at the Children’s Hospital.

Volunteers serve many roles around the facility, all designed to make the experience of children and families the hospital assists as accommodating and pleasant as it can be. The application window for volunteering opens on Monday, August 18 and can close very quickly, as the number of applicants frequently surpasses the number of available positions — so get your application in early.
